“The recollection of this exhibition has buoyed me up ever since. Now others have the chance to have their minds expanded at the Design Museum, complete with this remarkable installation.” The Guardian
A retrospective of the work of one of the most celebrated Danish post-war designers. Producing furniture, interiors, architecture, textiles and lighting, Panton’s work was dominated by his groundbreaking use of colour and experimental forms. The exhibition included an introduction by designer, Tom Dixon and an immersive, ‘hypnotic’ installation consisting of eight rooms, each containing only items of a single colour, and together forming a spectrum of yellow, orange, red, magenta, violet, blue, turquoise and green, reflecting Panton’s innovative colour philosophy.
